Helpful Quick Tips for Every Mom

Swaddle Your Baby

  • Your baby enjoys being in small areas for the first few weeks that he is born, after all it is what he has been used to for the past nine months. That is why, swaddling is important for your little bundle of joy.

  • Swaddling makes your baby feel safe and comfortable, it seems like it would be hassle but the first few weeks they are in the world they enjoy being all wrapped up, it just feels more like home.

Become a Master at Burping

  • When your baby cries, it is usually because of an upset tummy. This is where burping comes in. A happy baby is a burping baby and we love nothing more than a happy, smiling little one. When burping your baby, you can start by using a firm pat on the back, not too hard of course. If you wish you may even want to pat a few times then rub the back.

  • Positioning is definitely an important aspect in mastering the art of burping. And yes, we do believe these days it is an art form.

  • Luckily, for us, there are a few techniques to trade off while waiting for the big belch. You can choose to use the over-the-shoulder technique or go with a more current trend which is laying your baby across your legs and trying a few firm rubs on his back. If that doesn't do the trick, you can sit your baby across your legs and tap his back while cupping his head so that it stays in place and doesn't hurt him.

Make Boo-Boos' Seem Not So Bad

  • So your little one comes running in the house from playing outside with a skinned up elbow screaming and crying. What do you do? Sing a song! Turn tears into laughter by distracting with humor.

  • Try dancing, singing, anything. Anything you can think of to distract him from his bloody elbow is exactly what you want. Most of all don't exaggerate because most likely your child will as well since they mimic your actions and emotions. Lastly, make it fun with colorful bandages and fun prints.
