Stroller Features and Accessories

Not available for purchase

Description

There are many different features that we all tend to look over when we purchase our new stroller. Here is a run down of exactly what you're purchasing and other accessories that you may want to add as well.

Things You Should Know About Your Stroller

Make sure when purchasing your stroller that it is durable and can take a beating. Now, you don't have to go off- roading with your child on board but make sure that if you go over bumps or holes on the sidewalk that your little one isn't going to be thrown around.

Locking Your Stroller

  • Strollers usually come with locking systems built in so your stroller doesn't unfold when you are on the go.

Safety Harness

  • Any stroller you purchase should have a three to five-point harness. The three-point harnesses are ideal for older ones whereas your baby should be held in by a five-point harness for extra shoulder support.

Reclining Seat

  • Reclining Seats are a great bonus especially if your baby enjoys taking naps while in her stroller. Some strollers are multi positional and others do not recline all the way down. So make sure to pick your stroller based on what works best for you and your baby.

Strap Covers

  • Certain stroller straps can leave rashes or scratches on your little one. If you notice this, you may want to purchase strap covers to create a more comfortable feel for your baby.

Style and Fashion

  • Strollers come in all different patterns, colors, fabrics and padding. Now we know that the look of the stroller is what attracts you to it, that shouldn't be where it ends. You may choose a specific pattern or even a specific fabric for your baby's stroller. The more expensive strollers do come with more padding and more durable fabric that is a lot easier to maintain than the cheaper ones.

Footrest

  • Your footrest on your stroller does more than you think. Not only does it keep your little guy comfortable while riding around, but it actually improves posture. The footrest can come in any shape or size as long as one is there.

Canopy

  • Canopy's are extremely necessary especially for a child under 6 months of age since sunscreen is not allowed. Canopies on the stroller help shield your baby from all types of weather.

The Stroller Basket

  • Stroller baskets are a great source for mom. Although, if you don't like to carry too many items then you might opt for a smaller basket versus the larger ones that are out there.

Cup Holder

  • Some strollers have built in cup holders but if the stroller is a foreign brand, it will not. So if you are a mom that can't live without her coffee in the morning, you might want to purchase a cup holder if your stroller does not have one already.

Weather Shield

  • Rain covers or weather shields are a must-have if you live somewhere where it rains more often than not. They are a live saver for your little one and you as well since your baby will not be getting soaked in her stroller. The rain cover is a plastic shield that allows the proper ventilation for your baby.

Foot Muff

  • Another great option for baby is the foot muff. Foot muffs are made to keep your child's legs and feet warm in cold weather. They attach to the stroller and look very similar to a sleeping bag.
